Brent Metcalfe - President and CEO
Brent Metcalfe, an entrepreneur with a background in agriculture, holds an Agribusiness degree from the University of Manitoba. After leading the expansion of his family farm, he ventured into business ownership, including Nexeed Inc. and A-Post Aluminum Fabricators. Brent joined Backswath Management to establish the Mergers, Acquisitions, and Investment Group, leading to the creation of Harvest Acquisitions, where he now serves as President and CEO. Alongside his professional pursuits, Brent is pursuing an MSMBA program at Purdue University and actively engages in community initiatives. He resides in Oak Bluff, Manitoba, with his wife and children, enjoying hockey, golfing, skiing, and lake activities in his leisure time.
Sheena Pitura - Chairperson
Sheena Pitura, a University of Manitoba graduate with a Degree in Agribusiness, is a seasoned business leader with over 15 years of experience. She currently operates her own growth consulting business. With previous roles at Economic Development Winnipeg, INTENT and CANTERRA SEEDS, she brings extensive expertise in strategic leadership and marketing, ranging from established companies to start-ups. Raised on a pedigreed seed farm in Manitoba, Sheena remains involved in her family's business while contributing to community initiatives and enjoying time with her family in Winnipeg, MB.
Sheena serves as Chairperson of the Harvest Acqusitions board.
Craig Davidson - Director
Craig, President of Taurus Agricultural Marketing Inc. since its establishment in 2001, is dedicated to empowering growers with agricultural insights. His mission is to revolutionize the industry by promoting scientifically-backed technologies and innovative agronomic strategies. By fostering partnerships with agri-businesses and manufacturers, Craig ensures that Taurus delivers value to their customers, enhancing their production and profitability. With a hands-on approach, Craig remains deeply involved in grower meetings, drawing from his extensive experience in senior management roles with fertilizer manufacturers and his family's fifth-generation farming operation in Virden, Manitoba.
Bruce Wiebe - Director
Bruce Wiebe is a seasoned entrepreneur and business leader with more than 40 years of experience in agriculture, processing, and international trade. Throughout his career, he has built, scaled, and led businesses across the grain and specialty crop sectors, including helping grow Keystone Grain from $2 million to $50 million in sales and establishing it as Canada's largest bird food and sunflower processor. Bruce has extensive expertise in sales, marketing, logistics, operations, and strategic growth, complemented by experience as a business owner, board member, consultant, and investor. As a board member of Harvest Acquisitions, he brings a collaborative approach, deep industry knowledge, and a passion for supporting business growth and future acquisition opportunities.
Michael Ryan - Director
Michael is an entrepreneur, business owner, and former full-time farmer with firsthand experience building and scaling businesses in capital-intensive industries. After growing and exiting his farming operation in 2019, he transitioned to business acquisition, acquiring and expanding three companies to build Jeni Mobile Wash Ltd. Under his leadership, the company tripled its revenue, improved margins, and grew from 10 to 40 employees in just over three years. Drawing on experience spanning farming, sales leadership, and managing complex field operations, Michael brings a practical approach to leadership, team development, and sustainable business growth.
Melvin Penner - Director
Melvin, a seasoned entrepreneur with over 45 years in Manitoba's agriculture industry, established and managed H&M Farms, a 25,000+ acre grain and special crops operation. Additionally, he owned R12 Pork Ltd., a 2650-head farrowing operation, and has been involved in various other businesses. Currently, as President of Buffalo Creek Mills in Altona, Melvin oversees strategic planning while actively participating in community boards and associations. Recognized for his contributions, Melvin and his wife Elaine received the Canadian Outstanding Young Farmers award in 1997. Now semi-retired, Melvin cherishes family time with his wife and four grandchildren.
